Umbral Armor: Reflection, Environmental Protection & Cost
Read Umbral Armor’s reflected damage, freezing/corrosive/toxin protection and Bioplasm usage, including the exact, potentially ambiguous upgrade wording.
FAQ
Does UAEndure explicitly mean faster damage ticks?
What do the game files confirm?
The inventory’s broad reflection wording and environmental-protection sentence describe the intended function. The pickup entry separately explains that Bioplasm is used for protection by reflecting damage. Read both before treating the armor as a passive, resource-free resistance.
UAStrength decreases Bioplasm usage on hit; UARetaliate increases reflected damage on hit. UAEndure literally says Increase the area damage interval. That last phrase is not rewritten here as faster damage ticks, because an interval and a frequency are different quantities.
| Mechanic | Documented behavior |

| Core effect | Reflect incoming damage |
| Environmental wording | Freezing cold, corrosive gas and deadly toxins |
| Resource | Bioplasm |
| Interval field | Exact area-damage interval behavior needs testing |
Which upgrade directions are listed?
- Decrease the Bioplasm usage on hit
- Increase the reflected damage on hit
- Increase the area damage interval
Menu directions name what changes, not numeric ranks, prices or a tested optimal order.
How can you apply these clues?
-
Before entering a hazardous area, check the armor binding and current Bioplasm. The resource statement matters even when the inventory emphasizes strong environmental protection.
-
Observe protection and resource consumption in a recoverable situation. Do not deliberately rely on an unmeasured immunity duration to cross a long hazard.
-
When comparing UAEndure ranks, record the time between area-damage events separately from damage per event. This is the part where the wording most needs an actual timing test.
How does it compare with related mechanics?
Heal Lifeblood describes toxin purification and brief protection during healing. That is different from using Umbral Armor for ongoing reflection. Pure describes passive Bioplasm regeneration, not the removal of armor’s resource rules.
Acquisition and verification limits
No exact reflection multiplier, duration, damage-reduction percentage or hazard traversal time has been measured. “Little threat” is preserved as game wording, not converted to a universal immunity claim.
The expandable records below preserve the original game wording and source keys. A bundled record is not proof that the item or encounter is available in the Demo.
