FAQ

Does picking up one unit of Lifeblood increase maximum health?
The small Lifeblood pickup restores one unit. The separate Lifeblood Boost pickup says maximum Lifeblood increases by one. Check which name the game displays.
Is Armor Piercing the same as Phaser?
No. One pickup adds armor-piercing properties to all blasters; the other describes projectiles penetrating their targets. The text does not equate either effect with opening every wall.

Did you find a refill or a permanent capacity upgrade?

Pickup record Stated effect What to check on screen
Lifeblood Restore one unit of Lifeblood. Current resource, not an assumed new maximum.
Bioplasm Restore one unit of Bioplasm. Keep it separate from healing charges.
Lifeblood Boost Increase maximum Lifeblood by one. Compare capacity before and after collecting.
Bioplasm Boost Increase maximum Bioplasm by one. Record the capacity change separately from a refill.

The resource glossary pairs the English and Chinese names. Two pickups with similar colors can still serve different purposes; use the name and text rather than the glow alone.

How much Protoplasm do the four Gists describe?

Gist Chinese display name Pickup amount in the files
Emerald Gist 翡翠髓 250
Amber Gist 琥珀髓 500
Crimson Gist 绯红髓 1,000
Amethyst Gist 紫水晶髓 2,000

Those amounts come from explicit pickup messages, not estimates of enemy drops. They do not establish how many Gists exist or where they are located. Protoplasm is spent on available improvements at Evolve Chambers; the text does not establish a universal best spending order.

Which upgrades change a tool rather than a resource bar?

Upgrade Documented change Distinction worth preserving
Scan Booster Increase scanner sight radius. No radius measurement is supplied.
Bio-Magnetism Lifeblood, Bioplasm and Protoplasm units gravitate toward you. The text names resource units, not every collectible.
Armor Piercing Add armor-piercing properties to all blasters. No armor multiplier is supplied.
Charge Booster Prepare charged blasts faster on all blasters. Faster preparation is not a measured DPS increase here.
Phaser Add target-penetrating projectiles to all blasters. Penetrating a target is different from a verified wall interaction.

Compare these effects with the six blaster firing styles. A mutation affecting all blasters and an individual weapon description are different layers of your loadout. For a wider list of menu upgrade directions, use the companion field planner.

How should you track an upgrade without counting it twice?

The catalogue may contain an organism, an inventory form and a pickup message for the same subject. A checked record is a personal note, not another item obtained. Track the actual on-screen acquisition in the notebook and compare it with the game’s own inventory.

For completion goals, read achievement conditions. For unopened containers or blocked routes, use obstacle clues rather than assuming a capacity pickup is the missing key.

Where were these values verified?

Installed ScanInfosLocalized pickup messages, linked row by row above. Only the stated effects and amounts are confirmed. Spawn points, total collectible counts, acquisition order and current-save availability are unverified; see source coverage.

Need a specific item or mutation?

The item directory covers 12 resource, container and discovery subjects. The upgrade directory groups 14 Gist, capacity and mutation subjects with original container, pickup and inventory evidence. Compare Chitinite armor, Bioplasm Regeneration and Protocannon Barrage for their distinct effects.
