FAQ

Are armor piercing, pulse and concussive energy interchangeable?
The descriptions use different terms. Match the enemy clue to your ability text; this guide does not establish a universal equivalence or a damage multiplier.
Does a resistant scan mean the enemy cannot be defeated?
It establishes the stated resistance, not every possible interaction. Look for an explicit weak point or another tool description, and test safely in your current build.

Why do ordinary shots sometimes seem ineffective?

A scan can explain more than another attempt with the same weapon. Some records name a body part; others describe resistance to blaster fire or sensitivity to an energy type. These clues are different kinds of information, so the reference below keeps their wording separate.

Which clue matches the creature in front of you?

Creature What the scan establishes Source-based observation to try
Shield Crawler Its armored shell discourages standard blaster fire. Stop treating repeated ordinary shots as evidence of a missed hit; inspect your other available tools.
Dune Stinger Its shell deflects most blaster fire; lunging exposes weak abdominal parts. Watch where the exposed tissue is during the lunge. The safe firing window is not measured here.
Electric Jumper Electrical entities are susceptible to external energy pulses. Compare the explicit pulse effect of Protopulse.
Caustic Creeper Roots are vulnerable to concussive energy. Focus your observation on the roots, rather than the upper tendrils.
Blight Creeper Upper tendrils resist blaster fire; roots retain the concussive vulnerability. Do not assume the tougher variant removed the root clue.
Wall Hopper Its flexible shell is exposed to concussive energy. Compare the energy wording of available skills before testing.
Wall Surger Its shell is described as impervious to blaster fire. The record does not name a replacement counter; avoid inventing one from its resemblance to Wall Hopper.
Vaporoid Sufficient pulse energy may disperse the surrounding gas. The description gives a direction to investigate, not a one-hit guarantee.
Blightwing It resists blasters; volatile liquid in its eye is sensitive to concussive energy. Read the eye clue alongside your ability description.

What does a visible weak point look like in the reference art?

Dune Stinger — scan illustration for identification, not an attack-timing diagram

The art helps identify the creature. It does not establish hitbox boundaries or the frame at which an attack becomes safe. Keep identification and timing as separate observations.

For the larger encounter, Alvus’s scan specifies mouth tissue beneath a protected exterior. That clue is specific to Alvus; it should not become a blanket rule that all bosses are vulnerable in the mouth.

How should you test a clue without wasting an attempt?

Use the combat practice routine: begin with known healing charges, choose one tool and observe one result. Record the target body part and whether the game showed a reaction. A short failed test is useful if it distinguishes “wrong tool” from “wrong target” or “missed timing.”

Compare weapon behavior in the blaster reference. If the obstacle is a door rather than a creature, use blocked-path troubleshooting instead.

What is the evidence boundary?

All nine rows summarize the linked installed ScanInfosLocalized records. Proposed observations are editorial interpretation. No HP, DPS, resistance percentage, guaranteed kill or complete attack cycle was measured. Read source coverage before treating a file record as proof of Demo availability.

How can you inspect other creatures?

The complete bestiary contains 48 separate enemy, wildlife and nest subjects. Compare Armor-Piercing-sensitive Miasmid, Scyther’s Hypervelocity clue, Armored Sporecaster’s airborne underside and Venomvore’s symbiosis. Unknown weaknesses remain explicit instead of being copied from relatives or appearance.
