What do the records establish?

Field Documented information
Display name Shield Crawler
Weakness / defense clue Armored carapace discourages standard Blaster fire; no positive counter named.
Acquisition / habitat Wall Crawler family; the entry does not name a region.

How can you apply this clue?

Stop repeating an unchanged standard shot if the armored surface gives no result. Compare Armor Piercing and Protocannon wording before a controlled test; neither is a scan-confirmed kill requirement here.

What acquisition or encounter clues exist?

Wall Crawler family; the entry does not name a region.

The 1 linked record below is retained under one entity. A scan identifies a subject; a pickup message describes an acquisition effect. Neither alone establishes a route, current-save access or availability in the Demo. Use the exploration notebook to record an actual in-game observation.

What remains unverified?

Shell resistance does not establish immunity to every weapon or an armor multiplier. Do not copy an exposed-abdomen window from Dune Stinger.

The application suggestions above are editorial interpretations of the linked text, not a measured playthrough. The source coverage guide explains the distinction.

Shield CrawlerShieldCrawler

Xenology: pentatoe, the armor bugs or Shield Crawlers, belong to the large family of Wall Crawlers. During its larval stage, the Shield Crawler grows a tough carapace that provides exceptional protection against most predators. Due to the armor of its carapace, the Shield Crawler should not be attempted to deter with standard Blaster fire.
